Herriman, UT (August 25, 2022) – On Thursday, August 25th, officials with the Herriman City Police Department publicly identified the woman who was killed in a pedestrian accident the day before.

According to a department spokesman, 38-year-old local resident Stefanie Whittaker was jogging along the eastern sidewalk on Mountain View Corridor when she was hit by the driver of a pick-up truck as he made a righthand turn off of Real Vista onto Mountain View.

The man notified authorities after the impact and stayed on the scene. HCPD said he is fully cooperating with their investigation.

Driver impairment and speed have been ruled out, however, since the accident took place before sunrise, detectives are investigating low visibility as well as other environmental factors as contributors.
