New Harmony, UT (May 12, 2021) – Police were dispatched to the scene of a serious crash on Wednesday, May 12th on Interstate 15.
The accident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the interstate when a car slowed down as it approached the scene of an earlier accident and was hit from behind by another vehicle, which caused it to crash into a box truck.
While authorities responded to the scene, traffic in both directions was stopped. As a southbound tractor-trailer slowed for approaching traffic, it was rear-ended by a Ford pick-up truck.
The driver of the Ford sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to St. George Regional Hospital.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Traffic accidents happen on Utah streets and highways every day. In 2018, over 62,000 collisions took place statewide, claiming the lives of 260 victims and causing injury to 25,645 more.
These figures underscore just how unsafe driving can be. The injuries you sustain, whether minor or critical, could permanently cost you your ability to do many of the things you take for granted, like your ability to make a living, your good health, and your capacity to enjoy life.
The economic hardship created by your hospital and treatment costs, lost wages, and more can quickly become unmanageable and overwhelming, making it imperative that you speak with a personal injury attorney shortly after your accident if you plan on seeking financial compensation.
When victims are injured in accidents caused by the negligence of other drivers, it is crucial that they seek legal guidance from a skilled and knowledgeable car accident attorney in Salt Lake City as soon as possible. When victims are harmed in collisions, through no fault of their own, they are often able to obtain compensation from wrongdoers to alleviate the financial costs they face for medical treatment, lost wages, property repairs, and a variety of other economic and non-economic damages.
