Wendover, UT (June 20, 2021) – One person was killed and another left in critical condition following a rollover accident near the Bonneville Salt Flats east of Wendover on Sunday, June 20th.
The accident happened at about 6:20 a.m. when a car carrying two males in their twenties and heading eastbound on Interstate 80 swerved, causing the driver to overcorrect. The car overturned several times.
Both men were ejected from the vehicle.
A Utah Highway Patrol trooper reported to the scene and attempted life-saving measures until medical help arrived on the scene.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was med flighted to a hospital in very serious condition.
Troopers are investigating if impairment was a factor, but the cause of the crash is unknown.
