Sugar House, UT – Firefighter Injured During Structure Fire On E. Ashton Ave

Sugar House, UT (June 13, 2021) – A firefighter sustained injuries and six civilians were displaced from a nearby apartment building after a fire consumed an office building that housed more than a dozen small, local businesses in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City.

Fire crews spent several hours fighting the three-alarm fire that broke out at about 2:00 a.m. in the 1100 block of East Ashton Avenue on Sunday, June 13th.

The apartment building next door was evacuated for the resident’s safety, due to its proximity to the fire.

An official with the Salt Lake City Fire Department reported that one firefighter was hospitalized with smoke inhalation. Their current condition is unknown.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Thousands of victims suffer from severe injuries as the result of structure fires each year. Many people who manage to survive burn injuries will have to endure long hospitalizations and, until they are fully recovered, will not be able to go back to work. Both of these impediments can negatively impact their lives and the lives of their family members. Along with burn injuries, the victims of structure fires are also susceptible to respiratory problems caused by extensive smoke inhalation.

When injuries are the result of vehicle accidents that were caused by the careless behavior of other motorists, those victims are encouraged to seek legal guidance from a knowledgeable car accident attorney in Salt Lake City. When a person is injured due to another motorist’s negligence, they are lawfully permitted to seek financial remuneration from the individual responsible in order to lessen the economic hardships brought on by hospital bills, lost wages, property damage, and many other losses.
