Helper, UT – One Dead, Five Injured In Crash On US-191

Helper, UT (June 13, 2021) – One person was killed and five more were injured during a car crash on US-191 on Sunday, June 13th, just outside of Helper.

The two-vehicle accident took place at about 6:40 p.m. when a northbound 2007 GMC Canyon crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a southbound 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 that was hauling a boat.

The force of the impact resulted in the Canyon catching fire.

The occupants of the Ram, three children, and two adults were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was the only occupant of the Canyon but it is unclear if that driver was the person who died.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

A head-on car accident, also identified as a wrong-way car accident, is an expression that acknowledges contact between the front-ends of two motor vehicles moving in opposite directions. This kind of vehicle collision has the highest odds of leaving its victims facing severe or even deadly injuries. The degree of force that is typically created during this type of accident is great and the primary reason that head-on crashes made up about 30 of all fatal traffic crashes in 2017.

Although no amount of financial compensation will ever make things okay after you lose someone you love from the careless or reckless behavior of other driver, families who have the economic means to afford reliable medical care, lost wages, burial and funeral costs, and other unexpected expenses they will come across will find it much easier to deal with their loss.
