Fire-Related Injuries in Utah

Several thousand victims sustain injuries caused by structure fires each year. Many people who endure these injuries will have no choice but to endure multiple expensive medical treatments. In addition, until they have fully healed, they will be unable to work. Both of these hurdles can negatively impact their lives and their families’ lives as well.

Along with burn injuries, those who survive structure fires are also susceptible to respiratory issues caused by smoke inhalation, along with lacerations, contusions, and broken bones, all sustained while attempting to flee the smoke and flames.

Fires happen for many reasons. Salt Lake City and its neighboring communities are known for their heavy fire season that usually begins mid-summer. Sadly, fires are not just a force of nature. Far too often, they are caused by negligent or malicious people.
