Salt Lake City, UT (July 03, 2022) – Emergency responders were on the scene when an SUV crashed into a Famous Footwear store injuring four people on Saturday, July 2nd.
The incident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. in the area of 2100 South and 1170 East in the Sugar House community of Salt Lake City.
Police said four people sustained injuries, including one woman who, according to bystanders, was pinned underneath the vehicle. She was transferred by ambulance to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Another woman, who is roughly 21 weeks pregnant, and her 7-year-old daughter also sustained non-critical injuries.
The driver of the Buick Enclave sustained minor injuries.
An investigation determined that the driver erroneously stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.
A crash team remained on the scene to continue investigations.
