Logan, UT (October 27, 2021) – Authorities have released the identity of the woman who died in a fatal car accident in Logan Canyon on Tuesday, October 26th.
Sources reported that, at about 8:00 a.m., a Dodge Caravan was driving eastbound on US-89 in Logan Canyon. For reasons that have yet to be determined, the driver of the Caravan lost control of the vehicle and struck the barrier on both sides of the highway. The Caravan then spun into the path of a Ford F-350.
The Ford struck the passenger side of the Caravan.
The woman driving the Caravan, now identified as 29-year-old Brekel Kanno, a resident of Honeyville, was fatally injured and died at the scene.
A child who was also inside the Caravan was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
Troopers say road conditions may have contributed to the crash.
