Salt Lake City, UT (July 18, 2021) – Police and first responders were dispatched to the site of a traffic accident causing serious injuries on Saturday afternoon, July 17, in Salt Lake City.
Per reports from troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol and officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of 90th South and 2700 West at about 2:30 p.m. The major accident caused serious delays for several hours near the southern end of the Mountain View Golf Course. Dispatchers received reports of a two-car accident that may have involved an additional vehicle that caused a secondary crash after the initial collision.
Paramedics on the scene medically assessed everyone involved in the collision and rendered the appropriate medical aid. Although serious injuries were confirmed, no additional information regarding the crash or its victims has been released at this time. It appears that at least one victim was transported to an area medical center in Salt Lake City, however.
This accident is under investigation by local law enforcement, and authorities are still piecing together the events causing the collision at this time.
