Auto Accidents in Salt Lake City
Due to the fact that Utah is a no-fault state, you may file a claim against the other party’s insurance only if you have:
- Medical bills totaling $3,000 or more
- A serious injury
- Less than 50% of the fault for the accident attributed to you
Before you look to the other driver’s insurance for assistance with hospital bills and lost income, you first have to file a claim against your personal injury protection insurance. Where property damages are concerned, however, you may file a claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance right away.
The complex rules that surround Utah insurance claims can be confusing, particularly when you have just been involved in a serious accident. Our experienced Utah personal injury attorneys are ready to help you know your rights and understand your options.
