Riverside, UT (August 05, 2021) – One person died following a car accident in Box Elder County on the morning of Wednesday, August 4th.
The crash took place at the intersection of 4400 West and State Route 30 in Riverside at about 10:10 a.m.
Upon their arrival, troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol discovered that a T-bone collision had left one person with critical injuries.
Investigators stated that the accident happened as the driver of a gray Honda Accord that was driving northbound on 4400 West collided with a GMC pick-up truck that was heading eastbound along State Route 30.
The truck crashed into the driver’s side of the Honda, resulting in both vehicles spinning out.
Troopers reported that the driver of the Honda died on impact. The driver of the GMC sustained injuries classified as non-critical.
Police are looking into two possible contributing factors to the accident. The first is that alcohol was involved. The second is that a cement truck was parked along the southeast corner of the intersection and was obstructing the view of the stop sign.
