Smithfield, UT (August 20, 2021) – A 14-year-old male student was hospitalized with lacerations and a concussion following a collision between a tractor-trailer and a school bus on Friday, August 20th in Cache County.
The accident took place at the intersection of Main Street and 100 North in Smithfield.
An official with the Cache County School District confirmed that the school bus involved in the crash was from Green Canyon High School in North Logan.
All students on board the bus were checked by first responders at the scene. District officials said a second school bus was sent to the area to collect the remaining students and take them home.
Officials said the bus had been taking students home to Newton.
Traffic slowed as officers shut down some lanes to allow first responders to work at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are not yet known.
