Box Elder Co, UT (May 27, 2021) – The man and woman who were killed in a car accident on Tuesday, May 25th have finally been identified by authorities as Hope Southwick and Kennedy Jones, both 20-year-old residents of Tremonton.
The crash took place at about 5:00 p.m. when a car driven by Jones was heading southbound on Interstate 15 near Brigham City behind a truck towing a camper trailer when the truck blew a tire, causing the car to swerve in order to dodge the debris. Jones’ car then lost control, left the roadway, and crashed into a pole on the driver’s side.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Southwick, his front-seat passenger, was transported to a local hospital where she passed away from her injuries.
A third, backseat occupant was airlifted to a hospital in life-threatening condition.
