East Carbon, UT (March 28, 2021) – An 11-year-old girl died in a house fire in East Carbon on Sunday, March 28th.
Officials reported that the fire broke out in the 400 block of Carson Avenue at about 2:10 a.m. Emergency response crews arrived to find the house already engulfed in flames. They were then notified that a child was possibly trapped inside. After gaining entry into the home, the child was located and removed.
She was transported via ambulance to a local trauma center but passed away a short while later.
Firefighters were unable to confirm if the girl was alone.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and the State Fire Marshall is currently investigating the incident.
