Kaysville, UT (June 29, 2021) – Two people were killed and three more were injured on Tuesday, June 29th in a multi-vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 at Burton Lane.
The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. when a vehicle belonging to a catering company had a bunch of its canvas bags fall onto the interstate and two following cars slowed as they approached the debris. The unexpected debris and deceleration caused a Ford F-250 to crash into a Toyota Prius, which then crashed into a Chevy Malibu.
The occupants of the Prius, and man and woman, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Another man was med flighted to an area hospital in critical condition.
The occupants of the Malibu sustained serious injuries and were taken to a trauma center by ambulance.
The driver of the Ford sustained non-critical injuries and was arrested for a DUI.
