Salt Lake City, UT (March 24, 2022) – Two people were killed in a collision on Redwood Road in Salt Lake City on Thursday, March 24th when a van struck a garbage truck head-on.
The accident took place at about 7:20 a.m. when a Salt Lake City sanitation truck was traveling southbound on Redwood Road when an oncoming van turned in front of the municipal vehicle.
The driver and a passenger in the van died on impact.
The driver of the garbage truck, who slammed on his brakes in an attempt to avoid the collision, was transported to a nearby hospital in non-critical condition.
