Salt Lake City, UT (January 16, 2022) – Several people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following an accident in the Salt Lake City area. On Sunday morning, January 16, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 215.
Reports from authorities show that a vehicle was traveling south on the northbound lanes of Interstate 215 West at 600 South. The vehicle then collided with a second vehicle on the roadway.
A semi-truck involved in the crash then became engulfed in flames. A sedan spun off the freeway and landed on the right shoulder.
A total of four people were transported to area hospitals with injuries. One victim was determined to be suffering from critical injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
