Cisco, UT (November 01, 2021) – Police have identified the woman who died in a fatal wrong-way accident in Cisco on Sunday, October 31st.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Jody M. Love, a resident of Ferguson, NC.
Love died and others sustained serious injuries in a fiery crash that involved two vehicles near the Utah-Colorado border.
At about 1:30 a.m., a Kia SUV was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 when it collided head-first with a box truck. Both vehicles then erupted into flames.
The driver of the Kia SUV, later identified as Love, was pronounced at the scene.
The occupants of the box truck all sustained serious injuries.
Colorado fire crews and paramedics responded to the crash for medical care and fire suppression. The Utah Highway Patrol Major Crash Investigation Team was notified along with the State Bureau of Investigations.
