Clearfield, UT – 14-Year-Old Girl Injured During ATV Crash At 2200 South And 300 East

Clearfield, UT (May 29, 2021) – A 14-year-old girl was taken to Primary Children’s Hospital on Friday, May 28th after an accident left her trapped under an ATV in Clearfield.

The accident took place in the area of 300 East and 2200 South, near a ward house of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

When officers arrived on the scene, the girl had been freed from under the ATV by helpful bystanders. She sustained a possible head injury and was transported for treatment.

Another 14-year-old and a 9-year-old were also involved in the accident but did not require medical attention.

The accident is under investigation in an effort to determine its cause, and if circumstances such as speeding were a contributing factor.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

More than 180 Utah ATV accidents were reported during 2016-2017. These accidents involved 225 operators, left 127 victims seriously injured and resulted in the deaths of 24. Dangerously high speeds have routinely been the leading cause behind these accidents.

Officials have reported that, as far as OHVs such as ATVs are concerned, speeding does not necessarily imply that a posted speed limit was exceeded, but rather that the operator of an OHV was driving at a speed that was too high for prevailing trail or road conditions. Driver inexperience was also a major contributing factor.

When people are harmed in accidents as a result of negligent drivers, it is crucial that they seek the legal guidance of a qualified ATV collision attorney as soon as possible. Those harmed may be entitled to compensation to help alleviate the financial burdens they face.
