Salt Lake City, UT – Woman Injured During Collision With Tractor-Trailer On I-15

Salt Lake City, UT (July 07, 2021) – One woman was taken to the hospital after her vehicle was pinned underneath a tractor-trailer on Wednesday, July 7th.

An official with the Utah Highway Patrol said that the tractor-trailer and a Hyundai were both driving northbound on Interstate 15 in the area of the junction for westbound Interstate 80.

For reasons still under investigation, the two vehicles collided with one another causing the front end of the car to go under the trailer portion of the truck.

The driver of the Hyundai was taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital in non-critical condition.

The operator of the tractor-trailer was unharmed during the crash.

This accident is under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Between 1992 and 2002, the number of tractor-trailers involved in deadly collisions has seen a 10 increase caused mainly by preventable circumstances such as driver fatigue, unsafe truck operation, oversized and unbalanced payloads, and faulty equipment. Accidents involving oversized commercial trucks are also subject to the same causative factors as other vehicles, including driver fatigue, drunk driving, driver error, equipment malfunction, and insufficient maintenance.

When victims are injured in accidents caused by the negligence of other drivers, it is crucial that they seek legal guidance from a skilled and knowledgeable tractor-trailer accident attorney in Salt Lake City as soon as possible. When victims are harmed in collisions, through no fault of their own, they are often able to obtain compensation from wrongdoers to alleviate the financial costs they face for medical treatment, lost wages, property repairs, and a variety of other economic and non-economic damages.
