St. George, UT (April 16, 2021) – A bicyclist died due to traumatic head injuries he sustained during an accident on the Southern Parkway on Tuesday, April 13th.
At about 11:00 a.m., police and first responders were called to the scene of a serious accident in the westbound lanes of State Route 7 in the area of River Road when a passerby noticed a bicyclist lying on the shoulder.
The victim, who has since been identified as Bill Woodard, 75, was transported via ambulance to St. George Regional Hospital. He was pronounced dead a short while later.
Several eyewitnesses stated that the cause of the fatal crash was a piece of debris in the roadway that became entangled in the spokes of the front wheel.
