Clearfield, UT (April 27, 2021) – The motorcyclist who was killed during a head-on collision involving two other vehicles on Friday, April 23rd has just been identified by Clearfield police as 47-year-old Steven Briggs, a resident of Ogden.

Sources show that Briggs was driving eastbound along Antelope Drive when an oncoming SUV attempted to make a lefthand turn in front of him. Briggs narrowly managed to avoid being struck by the SUV but was then hit by another westbound vehicle. The impact ejected from his bike, causing him to be hit by another car.

Emergency medical personnel rendered first aid to Briggs while they waited for a medical helicopter. Officials said by the time it arrived, however, Briggs had already died from his injuries.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mr. Steven Briggs, at this time.

Deadly accidents are a danger faced by motorcycle riders more so than the drivers or passengers of any other type of vehicle. While only 3 of vehicles registered in the state of Utah are motorcycles, the Utah Department of Public Safety reports that, in 2017, the state witnesses a total of 273 crash fatalities. Of these, 39, slightly more than 14, were motorcycle riders.

When victims are injured in accidents caused by the negligence of other drivers, it is crucial that they seek legal guidance from a skilled and knowledgeable motorcycle accident attorney in Salt Lake City as soon as possible. When victims are harmed in collisions, through no fault of their own, they are often able to obtain compensation from wrongdoers to alleviate the financial costs they face for medical treatment, lost wages, property repairs, and a variety of other economic and non-economic damages.
