Salt Lake City, UT – Jalen Neal Identified As Victim Of Fatal Uber Accident Near W. Temple And 700 South

Salt Lake City, UT (September 16, 2022) – An Uber passenger who was killed when his rideshare vehicle collided with a TRAX train has been identified by officials.  

28-year-old Jalen Neal died on Wednesday, September 14th during a collision in the area of West Temple Street and 700 South. 

Reports show that the Uber vehicle was traveling westbound when the driver blew through a red light. At that time, a TRAX train, which had the green light, was passing through the intersection and the two collided.  

Neal was a backseat passenger in the vehicle. He sustained critical injuries in the impact. In spite of lifesaving attempts, he died at the scene. 

The Salt Lake City Police Department is leading the investigation.
