Salt Lake City, UT – Injuries Reported After Car Struck By S-Line Train Near Salt Lake Station

Salt Lake City, UT (September 22, 2022) – On Thursday, September 22nd, the Utah Transit Authority reported that one of its trains had collided with a passenger vehicle resulting in injuries and substantial delays in Salt Lake City.

The incident involved UTA’s S-Line and took place between the authority’s South Salt Lake and Central Pointe stations.

Details regarding the crash, including the specific location and the total number of victims, are not being released at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Train accidents are commonly caused by basic negligence on the part of a railway company, involving things like worsening track conditions that go unattended to, tools or equipment being left on the tracks, traveling at hazardous speeds around sharp bends in the track, or engineers who are fatigued or even distracted while they are operating a train.

These kinds of negligence often have disastrous outcomes for the crew and/or passengers who are working on or riding the train. If your injuries were the result of another person’s maliciousness or negligence, you are entitled to solicit financial compensation via a personal injury claim under Utah law.

The sudden commonality of train wrecks throughout all 50 states in recent years has resulted in the millions of people who depend on freight trains, passenger trains, commuter rails, subways, and other types of trains for their job or their day-to-day commute becoming increasingly concerned about their safety.
