Moab, UT – One Killed In Collision With Semi Hauling Liquid Nitrogen On SR-191

Moab, UT (September 03, 2022) – One person died following a collision with a tanker truck on State Route 191 on Saturday, September 3rd in Grand County.

The collision took place at about 2:00 a.m. near milepost 149, just outside of Moab.

The Utah Department of Public Safety reported that an adult male driver was pulling a small trailer towing a Nissan truck in the southbound lanes when a tanker truck transporting a load of liquid nitrogen struck the pick-up. 

The driver of the Nissan sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.   

The incident caused the closure of SR-191 as emergency crews worked the scene.
