Kanab, UT (September 20, 2022) – A driver died and their passenger was taken to an area hospital after a single-vehicle rollover on Monday, September 19th in Kane County.
At about 9:30 p.m., police and first responders were dispatched following reports of a vehicle rollover on US-89 involving a Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
Upon their arrival, officers found the pick-up upside down off the shoulder of the highway just outside of Kanab.
At the time the rollover occurred, the truck was traveling westbound when, for reasons that are still unclear, it drifted to the far righthand lane near mile marker 17, left the paved portion of the roadway, and then overturned.
The 38-year-old driver was killed in the rollover. The 48-year-old passenger sustained several injuries and was airlifted to a regional trauma center in stable condition.
