Sandy, UT (May 18, 2022) – One person was transported to a local hospital following an unlikely incident at a car wash in Sandy on Tuesday, May 17th.

According to sources, at about 6:00 p.m., a vehicle was going through the Quick Quack Car Wash in the area of 700 East and 9750 South when an extension cord or hose from the back of the vehicle somehow became entangled in a large rotating brush inside the car wash.

The hose or cord then swung around and hit three separate vehicles, shattering the rear windscreens of two vehicles and destroying the sunroof of the third.

The Sandy City Fire Department said that the occupants of the third vehicle were injured by the falling glass. One of the vehicle’s occupants was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with injuries classified as moderate.

The other occupants in the vehicle sustained non-critical injuries.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Premises liability claims arise when one person sustains an injury on property owned by another. When you visit someone else’s property, you expect its condition to be reasonably safe and not put you in danger. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen.

Premises liability claims include incidents such as:

The stature of your premises liability claim depends on what type of visitor you were on the property where you were injured. In Utah, there are three primary classifications of visitors: invitees, licensees, and trespassers.

The duties owed to children are different. If a child is on the premises, even without permission, the owner must have their property in a reasonably safe condition to prevent injuries to the child. For instance, if the owner has a pool and is aware of the possibility of children being near the pool, they must take action to stop them from falling in.

To understand more about how a visitor’s classification affects premises liability claims, reach out to a Utah premises liability lawyer with experience in handling these kinds of cases.
