Brigham City, UT (May 29, 2022) – On Friday, May 27th, at about 10:00 p.m., the Brigham City Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic accident in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15.
The accident occurred at mile marker 365, at the junction for State Route 13, and involved tractor-trailers for a moving company transporting the belongings of two separate families and one passenger vehicle.
Due to the size of the vehicles involved in the incident, additional rescue agencies from Corinne Fire were dispatched and helped for the duration of the incident.
The force of the impact caused one of the tractor-trailers to overturn and go on fire, which caught not just the contents of the trailer but the oil and fuel that were spilled during the collision.
One person was transported by paramedics to Brigham Community Hospital in unknown condition.
Officials from BCF said that accessing the fire was extremely difficult and crews had to cut through the trailer in multiple places.
Fire crews also had to repeatedly extinguish grass fires that were caused by the burning fuel and oil streaming down the overpass.
