Spanish Fork, UT (March 27, 2022) – One person died and another was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident in Utah County on Sunday, March 27th
The crash occurred at about 3:35 p.m. when a motorcycle heading northbound on State Route 198 approached stopped traffic from people attending the Festival of Colors. The driver was unable to control the bike and it rolled as they attempted an evasive maneuver.
The motorcycle operator was thrown from the bike into the side of a stopped vehicle.
The passenger was pinned under the motorcycle. CPR was performed on the scene by Utah County deputies and Utah Highway Patrol troopers who were in the area for the event.
The passenger was taken to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead.
SR-198 was closed while police investigated.
