St. George, UT – One Hospitalized Following Sideswipe, Rollover Crash On Old Hwy 91

St. George, UT (July 27, 2022) – A man driving a Ford F-150 pick-up truck along Old Highway 91 was involved in a sideswipe accident with an oncoming vehicle at about 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26th.

According to first responders, the impact caused the truck to overturn multiple times and come to a stop on its side. The driver received on-scene treatment and was then taken by ambulance to St. George Regional Hospital for further care.

His vehicle was towed from the scene.

The other involved vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz sedan, was occupied by a husband and wife who were unharmed during the crash.

Due to the accident’s remote location, the wife had to leave the scene and drive to an area with cell service to notify authorities. Her husband remained with the victim while she went to get help.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Sideswipe accidents are often incited during a lane change and are usually subject to angry disputes about which driver is at fault. Collecting physical evidence and witness testimony is crucial to pursuing a successful claim for financial compensation. If you are able, take pictures of the vehicles involved and your injuries, and ask eyewitnesses for their contact information so their statements can be taken at a later date.

Often, the impact resulting from a sideswipe collision is not as forceful as one caused by a head-on, T-bone, or rear-end accident and your vehicle is left fairly intact. Sometimes, however, especially where larger vehicles are involved, sideswipe accidents can cause serious injuries to those involved.

The most important thing is that you and your passengers are safe following a sideswipe accident. Seek immediate medical attention, and contact a Utah personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.

When injuries happen in a collision caused by another motorist’s negligence, victims need to seek legal counsel from a side-impact accident attorney in Utah. Whenever somebody is hurt and another person is the cause, they are qualified to obtain compensation for their losses.
