Woods Cross, UT – Hydroplaning A Factor In Injury Crash Responsible For I-15 Gridlock Through Davis Co

Woods Cross, UT (August 02, 2022) – A collision in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 on Tuesday, August 2nd, brought traffic grinding to a halt as drivers in Davis County waited for the scene to be cleared.

The Utah Department of Transportation said the accident occurred at about 6:00 a.m. and resulted in the closure of the three lefthand lanes.

Commuters were at a dead stop in all lanes, including a nearby on-ramp.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, there were two vehicles involved. EMTs responded to the scene and aided several people with non-critical injuries.

The cause of the crash has not been determined but preliminary reports state the involved vehicles may have hydroplaned.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Any Utah traffic crash has the potential to cause injuries and property damage. After an accident, many victims want to understand what options are available to them when it comes to securing full financial compensation for their various damages.

Any kind of personal injury claim you bring can be considerably influenced by these laws, including:

  • You have four years to file a suit relating to accident-induced injuries
  • You have three years to file a suit relating to vehicular or other property damage
  • Due to the state’s modified comparative fault rule, Utah car accident victims can only collect financial compensation if they share a smaller degree of liability than the respondent

Utah is a no-fault auto insurance state, meaning that, no matter who caused the accident, everyone involved will file a claim against their own personal injury protection policy to recover damages for medical expenses and other financial losses. A claim against the liable driver may only be brought in certain circumstances.
