Tooele, UT (August 13, 2022) – One person died and another was left in critical condition following an accident on Interstate 80 on Saturday, August 13th.
At about 3:35 a.m., a Dodge pick-up truck was traveling eastbound on the interstate in the area of mile marker 63.
For reasons that are still unclear, the pick-up swerved to the left, crossed the median, and left the roadway.
The truck then entered oncoming traffic where it collided with a Genesis passenger car.
The driver of the pickup was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
One of the occupants of the Genesis was airlifted in critical condition to a local hospital. The other was transported by ambulance in non-critical condition.
The westbound lanes were shut down for several hours for police investigation.
