South Salt Lake, UT (August 29, 2022) – Police in South Salt Lake responded to the scene when a car blew through a stop light, hit another vehicle, then flew through the front window of a T-Mobile store on Sunday, August 28th.
Emergency dispatch was made aware of the situation at about 2:05 a.m. when the driver of the striking vehicle was heading eastbound along 3300 South and failed to stop for the light at the intersection of State Street.
Once in the intersection, the vehicle was T-boned by the driver who had the green light, which pushed the first vehicle through the front of the store.
One of the drivers was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. It was not immediately clear which one.
Police are investigating driver distraction as a factor in the incident.
