Salt Lake City, UT – Truck Accident Causes Injuries, Gravel Spill On I-215 At 700 North

Salt Lake City, UT (August 17, 2022) – All northbound lanes of Interstate 215 were shut down after an accident that led to a dump truck dropping its load of gravel across several lanes of travel on Wednesday, August 17th.

Highway troopers reported to the scene in the area of 700 North in Salt Lake City at about 4:00 p.m. when an accident involving the dump truck took place.

Witness reports indicate that one person was transported for medical aid.

The area remained closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the gravel from the roadway.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

During the decade preceding 2002, the number of dump trucks involved in serious crashes rose by 10%; an upsurge due mostly to preventable scenarios such as drivers who are overly tired, driving operating trucks in an unsafe fashion, cargo that is unbalanced or oversized, and parts that are defective.

Accidents involving dump trucks can also be incited by the same factors that can cause regular car accidents, such as drivers who are intoxicated, and drivers who are distracted.

After being hit by a dump truck, many victims must face an agonizing and lengthy recovery. This may involve rigorous and painful physical therapy in addition to various surgeries and costly, continued medical treatments, all leading to an ever-growing pile of hospital bills combined with other damages such as lost earnings from being unable to work.

The representation of a skilled dump truck accident lawyer in Utah who knows how to determine the bills you can expect to receive in the coming months is your best chance at securing the compensation you are entitled to.
