Layton, UT – Injured Homeowner Escapes House Fire On N. Hill Field Rd

Layton, UT (August 24, 2022) – A Layton homeowner managed to escape with his life after he awoke to find flames consuming the inside of his home on Wednesday, August 24th.

Crews responded to the scene at about 7:00 a.m. after neighbors reported seeing smoke pouring from the residence in the 1100th block of North Hill Field Road. When fire crews arrived, a considerable amount of debris and storage inside impeded their entry into the house.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, although the occupant indicated he thought it began in the kitchen.

The home will most likely be declared a total loss due to the significant amount of damage.

The homeowner was transported for treatment of injuries related to heavy smoke inhalation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
