St. George, UT (April 29, 2022) – A boy from St. George is recovering in a local hospital after he was struck by a car on Thursday, April 28th.
The incident took place at about 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of 2600 East and 610 North when the child was struck by a vehicle backing out of a driveway.
According to police reports, the boy was in a driveway when the accident occurred.
Despite being conscious and alert when officers arrived, he sustained significant injuries.
He was taken to an area hospital for emergency surgery.
An accident reconstruction team does not believe impairment was a factor.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the driver of the vehicle and the boy knew each other or were related.
