Taylorsville, UT (September 10, 2021) – A family was displaced and a woman sustained critical conditions when a car crashed into a home following a police chase through parts of Salt Lake County on Wednesday morning, September 8.
Chief Brady Cottam with the Taylorsville Police Department said officers initiated a high-risk stop before losing track of the vehicle. The driver then crashed into a home near 1300 West and 6920 South.
One female passenger, located in the passenger seat, suffered critical injuries in the crash. Paramedics transported her to an area hospital, where she remains in serious condition.
The male suspect driver fled on foot, and police have not located the man. Police did not release a description of the suspect.
The family that lives in the home that was hit by the driver has been displaced, though it’s unclear if they suffered any injuries.
The investigation into the wreck is still ongoing. Officers have asked any witnesses or any other person with information to contact them immediately.
