Saltair, UT (November 04, 2021) – On Wednesday, November 3rd, at about 5:00 p.m., a fatal motorcycle accident closed down a portion of Interstate 80 for several hours.
The Utah Highway Patrol reported that a motorcyclist died at the scene after being involved in a two-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes of I-80, just outside of Saltair.
Traffic had begun to slow down and a biker who was riding in the lefthand lane skidded for nearly 140 feet before being struck from behind by a pick-up truck.
The rider was thrown from the bike and died.
The driver of the pick-up truck was unharmed.
