West Valley City, UT (September 28, 2020) – A pedestrian accident just east of Salt Lake City claimed one woman’s life on Friday morning, according to reports. On September 25, troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident on Interstate 215.
Reports provided by Utah Highway Patrol’s public information officer, Trooper Chris Bishop, show that 31-year-old Veronica Tapia was walking in the area of Interstate 215 near 3800 South when she was struck by several vehicles in the road.
Drivers passing through the area noticed Tapia in the road and called for emergency assistance. Crews arrived at the scene of the accident and declared the woman deceased. The police are currently investigating the accident and spoke to several drivers at the scene.
