Strawberry, UT (September 27, 2022) – A woman is dead and a man is critically injured following a collision on US-40 near mile marker 40, on Monday, September 26th.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a driver was turning into the westbound lanes of US-40 from the Strawberry Marina, in the area of Starvation Reservoir, when their car was T-boned by an eastbound tanker truck at about 5:00 p.m.
The driver of the car, identified only as an adult female, was pronounced at the scene. Her male passenger was transported by medical helicopter to a regional trauma center in critical condition.
The tanker operator was unharmed during the incident.
Both directions of US-40 were closed until after 8:00 p.m.
