Emery Co, UT (July 29, 2022) – The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 were shut down on Friday, July 29th in a remote region of central Utah following a chain-reaction crash involving multiple vehicles.

An official from the Utah Highway Patrol said the major collision took place at about 4:00 p.m. near mile marker 120, about 40 miles outside of Green River.

UHP troopers confirmed that several people were injured but no one was killed during the seven-vehicle pile-up that included several tractor-trailers.

Highway patrol officials have not yet released the events that led up to the incident.

It was nearly 11:00 p.m. before a single lane was cleared to allow traffic to pass.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Tractor-trailer collisions are a lot more common than people think. Accidents that involve these massive vehicles usually end in devastation, leaving victims with equally massive medical bills and a life that has been turned upside down.

In most situations, victims may be able to hold the negligent driver responsible for their injuries.

There are many different factors that can contribute to the likelihood of a tractor-trailer accident taking place, such as:

People are quick to think that the truck operator is always to blame for accidents involving tractor-trailers, but this is not automatically the case. The trucking company, truck owner, vehicle or parts manufacturer, cargo loading company, maintenance contractor, or even a government agency could be liable for a trucking accident.
