Hurricane, UT (November 24, 2021) – Officials said two teenage girls were hit by a driver who is now facing charges that include two counts of driving under the influence.
They said the girls were hit by a pick-up truck in a crosswalk at the intersection of 300 West and State Street on Wednesday, November 24th.
Hurricane City Police and Hurricane Valley Fire responded to the scene at about 10:00 p.m.
One girl was taken by ambulance to St. George Regional Hospital with serious injuries and the other was taken in a personal vehicle to a local hospital with non-critical injuries.
The driver’s truck was impounded at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
In addition to the DUI charges, the driver was charged with failure to yield to pedestrian causing injury, driving on a revoked driver’s license, and a window tint violation.
