South Salt Lake, UT (March 02, 2021) – A 50-year-old male sustained critical injuries after he was struck by a car as he attempted to make his way across the intersection at State Street and Claybourne Avenue in South Salt Lake on Tuesday, March 02.
Local law enforcement stated that they were dispatched to the site at about 9:30 p.m. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries, including one to his head.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police, who do not expect driver impairment to be a factor.
The area was closed for about two and a half hours as officers conducted an investigation.
