Lehi, UT (March 04, 2021) – One child in critical condition was airlifted in a medical helicopter after a car accident in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 on Thursday, March 4th in Lehi.
According to officials with the Utah Highway Patrol, a Kia Soul was heading southbound on the interstate at about 4:30 p.m. when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, it traveled out of its lane and struck a barrier on the lefthand side of the interstate.
The driver then overcorrected and veered across all lanes of the interstate, striking the barrier on the opposite side in the area of the exit ramp for Main Street.
One of the vehicle occupants, an 8-year-old child, had no pulse when first responders arrived at the scene. They were able to recover the child’s pulse before the medical helicopter landed.
The other two occupants of the Kia, a male driver, and the child’s 8-year-old twin were both transported via ambulance with unspecified injuries but in stable condition.
