Salt Lake City, UT (August 13, 2021) – Troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol have been released after a semi-truck and passenger car collided on a busy Salt Lake City highway Thursday morning, August 12.
Officers say the accident happened around 9:00 a.m. on the southbound side of Interstate 15 near 400 South. Around that time, the driver of a passenger vehicle lost control and spun out in front of a semi-truck, officials with the Utah Department of Public Safety reported.
The semi rolled onto its side as a result of the impact. The driver of the car sustained only minor injuries, but the truck’s driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area medical center.
Troopers are investigating the incident and say that another vehicle may have been involved that possibly clipped the first car, causing the driver to lose control.
Officers have asked anyone with information to contact the UHP or Salt Lake City Police Department.
