Taylorsville, UT – Collision On 5400 South Leaves Woman In Critical Condition

Taylorsville, UT (September 11, 2022) – A woman was taken into emergency surgery after an accident on 5400 South in the area of Bangerter Highway on Saturday, September 10th.

Taylorsville Police were notified of the crash at about 12:40 a.m.

Upon their arrival, they located a heavily damaged vehicle with one female occupant still trapped inside. After being extricated, she was taken by paramedics to a local hospital with critical injuries.

A car had also slammed into a pawn shop in the area, but the structure only sustained cosmetic damage.

The collision led to the shut down of the eastbound lanes from 4000 West for several hours as detectives processed the scene.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

When injuries take place in a crash caused by someone else’s negligence, victims need to seek legal counsel from a car accident attorney in Utah. Whenever someone is injured and another person is the cause, they are qualified to obtain compensation for their losses.

In one recent year, Utah’s 58 fatal intersection accidents constituted 21.2% of its car accident-related deaths, marking a 6.5% drop when compared to 2016, showing that almost half of the nation’s car crashes occur at intersections.

While all kinds of accidents can happen in an intersection, one of the most serious is a broadside collision. Often referred to as being T-boned, these dangerous crashes take place when the front end of one car crashes into the side of another. T-bone and other side-impact accidents caused the deaths of 1,770 vehicle occupants in 2017.
