South Salt Lake, UT (June 08, 2022) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car on Wednesday, June 8th in Salt Lake County.
According to troopers from the Utah Highway Patrol, the fatal incident took place at about 5:20 a.m. near the intersection of 700 West and 2100 South in South Salt Lake when a man attempting to cross 2100 South was hit by the driver of an SUV.
Investigators said the driver did not appear to see the victim and has stayed at the scene and cooperated with the detectives.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification.
The area is expected to be shut down for several hours while investigators work.
