Saratoga Springs, UT – Amanda Sessions And Teenage Son Identified As Victims Of Redwood Rd Crash

Saratoga Springs, UT (June 04, 2022) – A mother and son were heading out to celebrate her birthday on Saturday, May 28th when they were both killed in a fatal collision in Utah County.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Amanda Sessions, and her 13-year-old son, both residents of Herriman, were in a Hyundai Elantra heading southbound along State Route 68 near Utah Lake on their way to her birthday celebration at about 1:30 p.m. 

For reasons still under investigation, their car left the roadway, overcorrected, and entered oncoming traffic where it was T-boned by a Jeep Grand Cherokee. 

The boy was killed on impact when the Jeep crashed into the passenger side of the Hyundai. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures on Sessions, but she passed away due to her injuries.

Both occupants of the Jeep were transferred to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Utah Highway Patrol said speed is being investigated as a factor in the collision.
