Helper, UT – One Injured By Malfunctioning Grill In Colton

Helper, UT (June 10, 2022) – Fire crews in Helper were on the scene when one person was injured while using a propane grill on Tuesday, June 7th.

Firefighters responded to reports of a propane explosion at a cabin in Colton just outside of Helper.

Officials said the explosion took place in the outdoor kitchen area of a cabin where the propane grill was being used.

According to police, a malfunction in the grill resulted in the propane settling in the cabinet area where it eventually found an ignition source and caused an explosion.

One person was taken by paramedics to a hospital in Utah County in non-critical condition.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

A defective product or dangerous product is any product that, either because of defects in its labeling, design, or manufacturing, or due to poor judgment, inadequate training, malicious intent, or simple human error, results in damage to property or causes the injury or death of an individual. Any commercially available product that has the potential to be dangerous, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vehicle components or parts, sports equipment, exercise gear, baby cribs, children’s toys, food, defibrillators, and more.

When products are poorly made or poorly designed, they can cause injuries and death to consumers, but these defects can originate from different places. Utah product liability laws recognize three types of product defects. Depending on your specific situation, you may be eligible to bring a product liability lawsuit against the distributor, wholesaler, designer, or manufacturer.

In a product liability case, victims are not required to prove that a company knowingly and purposefully unleashed a dangerous or defective product onto the unsuspecting public. They are only required to prove that the product presents a risk when it is used in an appropriate manner for its intended purpose. By working with engineers and other industry professionals, our product liability attorneys can pinpoint the exact defect that caused your injuries and start constructing a strong claim.
