Erda, UT (June 02, 2022) – The driver and passenger in a Dodge truck and the driver of a Subaru were airlifted to area hospitals by medical helicopters on Monday, May 30th following an accident in Tooele County.

The incident took place at about 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 138 and State Route 179.

According to sources, a southbound 1995 Subaru passenger vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old boy, was struck on the passenger side by a northbound Dodge pick-up truck towing an empty horse trailer as it made a lefthand turn.

The Subaru took heavy damage and the driver required extrication. The horse trailer became uncoupled and traveled across the oncoming lanes before it came to a stop on the shoulder.

The driver of the Subaru was seriously injured and was med flighted to a hospital in the Salt Lake area in delta (life-threatening) condition. A passenger from the Dodge was also med flighted to a Salt Lake area hospital.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
